Sudden Penguin!

...would you believe this guy started out as a failed "Guilty" axe?

The design gave me a major headache at first, and in frustration, I thought "frikken thing looks like a penguin!!"

My mind snapped calm, and I decided to fill in a few more details, and here we are.

I went with the blue color for one simple reason; I used to have a movie called "Scamper the Penguin," loved that movie as a kid. He was a blue penguin (not the worst offense, there were also pink and green penguins). Of course, the beak is the most un-penguin feature, but hey, felt like adding that.

I decided to try a new lining technique, using a darker shade of the main colors to outline. I'll be honest, I got the idea after paying attention to how the characters in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic were drawn (hey, if you pay attention to my favorites, this shouldn't be a surprise!).

I have to admit, this came out a lot better than I thought it would. I honestly thought of just uploading the original sketch to scraps, or not post it at all.
